Remedy

Just finished up a remix for some guys album, not sure if it sounds a bit to clean or boring though - as I'm used to roughing sounds up a bit to make them more lo fi. Been digging Wax Stag and his pristine sounds lately though, it's a fine line between clean and soulless cheese though innit? I'll stop talking now.

i like it, i listened to it several times. Nothing jumped out at me as too clean and sterile. Maybe the bass guitar and the monosynth a bit, but that might be because I was looking out for something to match that description. Is the melody being played on a synth or is that a sample? Reminds me of a kalimba being run through some distortion.

I think it is a recording of a kalimba - he had like 20 tracks of various instruments he recorded in a studio so I had loads of choice, which was nice. I did add some distortion to that though, because it felt a bit twee. I didn't add much to it really, just the baseline and synth notes in the middle - the original didn't have a beat either so it sounds quite diffent to this version. Cheers for listening anyway.
