USB/MIDI to CV Interface...Your picks ?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a Usb/Midi to cv Interface.

Of course there are the Expert Sleepers Hardware modules but they aren't the cheapest !

I need to demo Silent Way to see if my audio interface will work with it , in this case problem will be solved...

In case this won't work, have you any recommendation ?

I saw Korg sq-1 which is cheap and will probably do the job or Doepfer Dark Link, a bit pricier but reliable by the reviews I red.

If you have any suggestion...

Thanks.

On the (comparatively) cheap I've been happy so far with the CV output on the Beatstep Pro.

For about the same price as the Kenton Pro-Solo you could get a used Bass Station Rack and have similar (no velocity though, unfortunately, just pitch and gate) midi to CV plus a pretty decent analog monosynth (that's exactly why I ended up with one).

The cheapest I know of is http://midimplant.com/

The cheapest-per-channel I can think of is the PAIA kit.

I've never used either one, so I can't say if they're any good. They don't do USB-MIDI if you need that, and both of them need at least a bit of soldering.

Kind of funny. 30 years ago people would be asking the opposite question.

They all wear beards now though...O tempora, O mores...

Thanks for the tips guys !

Cool, is someone making a PCB again or did you have it made for you or make it yourself or what? Although looking at it now, it's simple enough to do on perfboard.
