This is really one of the best tracks I've heard in recent years and was always looking for a good copy, turns out it's being properly released by Luaka Bop, who also released the incredible William Onyeabor 3LP and Floating Points.

 

On October 16, we are releasing the music of Doug Hream Blunt, from San Francisco. In 1985, when Doug was 35 years old, he joined an adult education class called "How To Form A Band". He learned to play guitar and started writing music. A few years later, he self-released a fantastic album called "Gentle Persuasion". The other students in the class became Doug's backing band, with their teacher, Victor, joining on vibes or drums, and Victor's wife, Laura, occassionally playing bass.

Ah, glad someone on here digs it :) the track in that first video (gone now, fucking Luaka Bop) is one of my fave tracks to party to. Amazing!

was that gentle persuasion? yeah thats the jam of the year!!! (past 30 years?!?) what a tune. the album is a lot of fun!
