Akai MPC Touch

So I've just been stumbling upon this on the mpc forums. Someone on gearslutz posted what seem to be leaked promo pics of a new MPC, and few days later it was on guitarcenter.com

Looks like Akai is going to announce something on wednesday.

Don't know what to think about that kind of product. If it's really a software controller I might be disappointed !

i wonder if the timing will be sloppy as hell like the more recent mpc's

The display suggests that it'll be standalone

If it's awesome I'll totally buy it

No midi I/O. I guess the possibility of it being a hardware sequencer is kind of out the door.

MSRP is $799 according to the first leaked page.

You can get a used MPC4K for that price lol

The street price is usually lower than MSRP. We should have more info tomorrow.

on gearslutz ppl are thinking this is only a midi controller/audio interface. super lame at that price if it's not standalone.

i don't see why akai would make another push, seems like it should be standalone

yep, i think it's just a controller. there's a 'requiments' section in the website.

Do people like the touchscreen stuff? I've never spent more than a couple minutes with anything touchscreen. Does it get annoying after awhile?

Maybe I'm getting old but this doesn't push my "want" button whatsoever.

i really don't know what akais problem is with making a standalone mpc. this easily could have been one. so lame.
