Your favorite Sampler vsts?

I am currently browsing for a new sampler vst. I use Fruity Loops and use the default DirectWave and it serves it's purpose but I've never really tried to find some good third party sampler vsts and am 100% in the dark about any good ones.

So basically the vsts you can throw samples into (multiple samples and map it to different keys) and mangle it in various ways.

As you're a fruity loops man (and even if you're not there's an ace VST version) I highly recommend Harmor for all sorts of resynthesis & resamplying shenanigans - http://www.image-line.com/plugins/Synths/Harmor/

Ive been considering buying harmor for quite a while as ive demoed it and love it ... Do you like it better than fm8 / razr / other fm plugs or better than sylenth / massive / spire or other subtractive plugs you may have tried?

Oh I have Harmor and have used it extensively in my tracks. It's one of my favorite vsts.

Lane I like it more than all of the vsts you've mentioned. Razr is like a simpler version of Harmor and with a bit of understanding you can do the same thing in Harmor as with Razer.

Harmor is more resynthesis though. It takes the sample you input and resynthesized it additively, it's a sampler, but not a traditional one for sure. So it's a good idea to have both imo, if you can.

fuck, I forgot how good Harmor is. Already created some kewl pads with it with a sample of a drum!

Good shout MGF, I was going to suggest the rather hardcore Cyclone vst, but it looks like your link is exactly the same but with a UI that doesn't actually make you want to kill yourself (Cyclone is a cycle accurate version of the TX16W with exactly the same interface, meaning to load a sample you have to do the following)

Same here, bought Falcon on faith (there's no demo) after seeing the feature list, and it's just mental, could not be more pleased. If there's a more flexible and powerful "stock" instrument out there I've yet to see it.

It's fucking Dan Worrall's voice that does it. He could describe the features of a big shit in an envelope and I'd have to buy it ....

 

Sonic Charge Cyclone, I absolutely love this thing.

The biggest problem with Shortcircuit is that the attack doesn't go to 0ms.

 

Kontakt is pretty much the best sampler I can think of, though. Massive tons of modulation, filters, effects, huge library, scripting, etc.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm going to look again today. The other day I tried out Shortcircuit and I like it. I wish I could get shortcircuit 2 to work but it's all buggy so i'm 'stuck' with the first one.

I'd like to have a new sampler though. Heh.

You'll be wanting Sunvox in that case !

I've used sunvox in the past and while great, if redux comes with a standalone version in the future I'll use it all the time for sounddesigning instruments.
