omg.. you guys gotta hear this...

so my buddy and i wrote this cheesy little pop song for a publisher friend of ours who invited us/hired us to write a song for one of his film/tv libraries, he wanted something quirky and fun and alt, and we composed it, pre-produced it, arranged, and recorded the vocals in my apartment and went into a pro studio with his team to do production touches and mix, and after the final mix, it apparently got accepted into the library collection (which is owned by Universal Music Publishing)...

Anyway, it turned out to incredibly poppy and cheesy-- so much more than i could have anticipated-- like to the level of tween / party / disney / Nickelodeon style, and so i havent even really showed it to anyone cuz it's so over the top lol... until now

thought it would be a laugh for you guys..

Nah, you're a wee child who can't wait for official release. Embarrassing. Shove your privilege.

You should write a song where all the first letters of the lyrics are either an ode to satan or insulting the boss of the company you're selling the song to.

haha cool. i've done some work like this (not the same style, but needledrop commercial tracks). I would post them but I'm too embarrassed.

omg gross.

totally lol tho

i couldn't finish it

holy crap it's not even 3 minutes?

i know- the cheese is pretty intense right? like head cheese or blue stilton...

It's like if Simon Cowell put together a collab between The Killers and One Direction to be featured on an episode of iCarly on Nickelodeon! :cat::yeah:

Or like the music you'd hear on a hypothetical made-for-TV-series, or better yet straight-to-dvd 8th sequel of the movie American Pie. lol

it may actually be so incredibly cheese-tastic, that it just turns full circle to the point where it's actually IDM as fuck, like on some Rebecca Black kind of level- although i couldnt say if it's achieved that level

A member of the non sequitairiate.

ok listened to the preview, hahahahah, gave me a good chuckle, thanks mate. Not the title of cheesiest though, by a long shot, that award goes to kylie minogue - locomotion. As a long standing mental yardstick at least. If we were to really investigate it we'd be in some pretty horrible territory like that horror that did the titanic song and adult contemporary ballad of it's ilk.

haha for sure, glad to entertain! lol

ahh yes good call on the examples

well my experiments in originally-composed vaporwave has kind of blurred the lines for me in terms of cheesyness/corny-ness as of lately. I've had a new found appreciation of muzak, elevator music, smooth jazz, adult contemporary, inspirational-- (of course usually only when pitched down, looped, and submerged in reverb though)

Stoked to watch OA II. The movement thing never bothered me, anyone familiar with Druidic studies will recognize the importance of movement to get to higher planes.
