I like it! Always excited to see what this dude is working on, although he's a bit hit or miss for me. I really enjoyed Silver Wilkinson. Some Toro Y Moi vibes going on here.

Ooh, Gotye on one of the tracks! Very curious about how that will be.

As much as I love his vocal tracks, I sure wish he'd release a fully instrumental album again...

I don't get why they would announce something so far in ahead these days? I kind of feel like people are more interested in impulse order situations these days?

this has pretty much been announced for months now. around the time the reissues were announced Bibio posted screens from the new single/vid on his instagram (rip) and petals was released.

not impressed heard that kind of funk sound 100x time before at least the video is really nice

The "Feeling" track reminds me more of Light Seep than Jealous of Roses tbh.

Good track, it lacks the small touch that made Jealous of Roses (and, well, most of the Ambivalence Avenue) exceptionnal tho. Or maybe it's just because of hearing the same kind of stuff coming from Bibio ?

Will probably give the album a listen tho, just hoping it will sound fresher to my ears than his most recent output !

Was a big fan of his Mush records gear, can't hack the recent material at all though.

Weak vocals, poorly performed takes, cringey matt-brown-esque photoshoots. Gah. His early material was just the *right* amount of derivation without things being too on-the-nose or referential, but at this stage it's just the musical equivalent of instagram.

that review basically says it's too summery and happy... which makes me excited. bibio's last was great but a bit of a downer compared to his previous records which always get some seeeeriioooussss summer rotation from me.

Bibio - just not sure how to feel about him sometimes. Some parts of this are real nice, some parts are pretty corny to me. Yes I realize the vibe he's going for - just not sure I'm on board. It's like Bibio doing a Toro Y Moi cover album. The middle part of this album gets real strange. Might take me some time to digest. Or, I'll just forget all about it and go back to Silver Wilkinson, Vignetting, and Fi.

A few standouts but in general it's probably my least favorite release so far maybe.

A little zippy who shares over at the place of souls that are funky told me that it leaked.

Lol some of these songs are wack as fuck, but this is how bibio is now. He hides 2-3 or possibly 4, really great tracks, amidst a sea of shit. Sadly it's getting worse and worse I think. The end of that album definitely makes this for me though, starting with Wren Trails. Some sexy stuff.

I know we all love the dusty guitar looped goodness of his past, but you just cannot make that forever.
