With the exception of "Psycho" this doesn't really sound like my thing

Too bad, but I've had it with grime :ermm:

I think I could get into it. I guess initially my thinking is 'mmm whats all this clatter and not music'. I dunno its Luke Vilbert and Aphex isn't it. I'm keeping an open mind at the moment as in the past I've often slatted something and then thought on 2nd thoughts it wasn't so bad. At the moment I'll be honest I'm not blown away more just like sort of intrigued. :fear:

I'm excited to hear all the songs, the clips posted are ok... Luke makes extensive use of a Meat Beat manifesto sample in Sidthug from (Fire #9). Doesn't really sound like grime... maybe the Amen Andrews vs. Spac hand falls into that category.

Yeah poor release for sure. Definitely one of Luke's worst for a long time. Very dissapointed with this release. Just thought it was as boring as watching paint dry. I fear the quality control went out of Rephlex HQ 'cause it was Luke. I may change my mind in which case I will say so but these tracks really had no funk or much to get me excited over. Such a shame. The new Kerrier one's aren't sounding like blow me away shit neither. :fear:

I really like the first half, and not so much the second half. At least Vibert is straying from the generic electronic music formula.

Sidthug could have been left out especially for a 4 track release, but i ruined the speakers in my car listening to the others, can't wait for the duel between Amen Andrews and Spac hand Luke .

I love the Amen Andrews vs Spac hand Luke........

Luke is a master of disguise, this record fucking wails!

Can't wait to hear the 2nd Kerrier District!

The 'Dune' samples are fucking amazing on the AA v SHL!

first the Human League, then Breakage, now a music god has used samples from one of my favorite films that everyone else, with the exception of most of my friends and some great musicians, seem to think is Lynch's worst work..........

Luke Vibert is a genius, pants down! :omg:

I second that motion, This summer Psycho has been the soundtrack over the best (and worst times) for me ever since I was captivated hearing it at the Faster Than Sound festival in a Suffolk MOD base! I love a lot of what Luke Vibert has achieved over the last 12 years (I have almost everything) but the Spac Hand Luke tracks on vs. and the ep ranks as some of the best material he has ever produced bar his genious acid tracks as vibert and wagon christ.

Sure, they are underproduced but they feel so raw, like the man is totally into his own tracks and the effects/changes that he makes (like cutting off the whole sound for a second as in Psycho et al) may alienate the casual listener but it all makes sence when you see him DJ.
