Nagra have a lot of respect when it comes to recorders, although there are some alternatives that work just as well and probably don't charge 500GBP for a rechargeable battery. The SoundDevices 788T works great and is almost half the price of the Nagra VI. I have a couple of Sound Devices recorders, I use NP1 L-Ion batteries which are about £100 a pop.
