auxien
http://gizmodo.com/scientists-are-still-arguing-about-that-chopra-bullshit-1762272253 Quote As Gizmodo’s Matt Novak reported last fall, Gordon Pennycook and his Waterloo colleagues took a 2014 Chopra tweet, “and presented it to study participants along with randomly generated statements that employed profound-sounding buzzwords. The statements made sense grammatically, but made absolutely no sense logically.” Chopra’s tweet was indistinguishable from the randomly generated nonsense. And the less skeptical and analytical the participant, the more likely he or she was to interpret random nonsense as being deeply profound. Unsurprising, but it's interesting to see it actually studied. One study of course doesn't stand for much on its own, but worth mentioning....it at least seemed relevant to WATMM. delet...
did he really say that, it reminds me of that statement generating program that matched them with pictures that we had a thread about last year. although the algorithm probably wouldn't make a series of statements and then call them questions. maybe, i don't know, it was pretty amazing.
