You mean - Objectively the most talented Beatle that was responsible for their albums being intensely engineered masterpieces that pushed the limits of modern recording at the time, has died. :emotawesomepm9:

He was the most talented with respect to technical nitty gritty

(E.G. Arranging string parts, translating vague requests into actual concrete practice, recording things well, etc)

But he wasn't the most talented with respect to all-around creativity

Huge loss, one of my favorite engineers and producers of all time. I grew up listening to the Beatles off/on and really got into them in middle school and high school but it wasn't until college that I actually appreciated to genius of Martin in his techniques, arrangements and engineering when it came to their discography. The effects and studio wizardry they pushed back then, the dense structures of songs off Sgt Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour they recorded on a 4-track. It's incredible.

Sergeant Pepper was my favourite album as a kid, it was utterly immersive in its imagination & inspired a lifetime love of music, gadget muppetry, vinyl & record players.

time & sentiment hasnt dimmed or cracked the magic, some art can help us transcend ourselves & even evolve.
