These guys behind the Rare AFX blog got it from someone close to AFX, iirc they posted it somewhere before the soundcloud dump? Not really sure, just that it got a bit snowed under by all the AFX hype going on with CWLP, Syro, etc. :)

even after i knew about the track it took awhile for it to really click. afx's subtle edits to the classic 80s tracks are so good though. alot of those old traxxx (not all, but alot) have amazing production but little things here and there that get in the way of my overall enjoyment. (ie. some real OOT goofie rapping or something). hearing the tracks thru the afx filter is always pretty wicked :):)

Yeah, I love it, his edits are excellent! I asked AFX about it during the sc event and his is what he had to say about it :)

yea I remember that. did you save the comment because he was specifically replying to you? I ask bc it'd be fun to see more of those 'missing' comments. I have a list of some of his replies but you don't really get the context or the questions that were asked that lead to certain responses.

was browsing my phone earlier to around May, looking for pics from my sydney trip at around the time, and came across this.

from when rdj was talking about getting signed and releasing the early EPs and analogue bubblebath 1 and 2. not much but it's all i got :)

He replied to my comments a few times on the YouTube track. I wish I had screen dumped them.

I was given this track a LONG time ago by someone close to Richard, and was fearful to share it even to those I trusted implicitly as I was certain if it got leaked it would get the person in question in trouble with Richard.

I'm wondering if he shared it with anyone else and they were the ones who broke the circle of confidence...?

Really hard to sit on loads of unreleased stuff and remain mum about it all. The SoundCloud dump was nice because so much of what I had was now "out there", and I could finally talk about it (and finally put a name to a good portion of it).

Just to repeat my previous posts: Rare AFX obtained the track through someone close to Rephlex and/or AFX. They never provided a download for the track, they just uploaded it to YouTube. The YouTube channel is even named Rare AFX...

Might as well just put the file up - easy to convert YouTube to MP3, etc.

Yeah, that would've been nice. My idea was that they might've promised their source to just stream it on YouTube in compressed quality instead of offering the full quality one?

I ripped it from YouTube which just leaves you with 128kbps which is fine with me, very happy non-audiophile here :)
