this is only their second album in like the last 10 years. I hope they've matured somewhat in that time.

mature into what, a decent band like GYBE! or TWDY?

these guys have always been overrated, middle of the road loud/rock post-rock formula with pretty guitar noodling and safe build-ups perfect for WB family and teenage drama shows. it's post-rock for middle schoolers branching out of top40 and whatever emo or alt rock they've constrained themselves to.

not really doing it for me upon first listen. not terrible but it doesn't seem to go anywhere, the drums sound kinda iffy.

not doing anything for me. my interest with this band first started like 10 years ago when a good friend recommended The Rescue, from 2005, and for the record (:cisfor:) I did enjoy that. but it's been sharply diminishing returns since then and I think I am now cashing out for good. last track is pretty though. rip in pepperoni, Sexplosions In The Eye.

it wasn't that bad for a while at the start. some of their earlier records are engaging. it was when they started doing the really big crescendoes with that awful 2007 record that I was like "hang on... maybe this band is incapable of evolving"

Never understood the critics never-ending chorus of praise for that aeroplane album. Huge steaming pile of horseshit imo.

I could never get into post rock for the same reason I can never get into emotional scenes in superhero movies.

not bad, half of the tracks were alright but "logic of a dream" was the only repeat for me

I dunno why this band makes me so harshly critical but it does, I try and try to give them a chance but they never do it for me, so many of their peers are simply better. I get the appeal broadly but the critical praise for them is still baffling
