goodbye soundcloud.

doubt it survives very long. That's expensive AF, and the market is already saturated with enough of these subscription based playback sites.

Nah, you're a wee child who can't wait for official release. Embarrassing. Shove your privilege.

But... that's for the Go streaming service or something, not for the website itself... right ?

i think this is right. i think the service lets you download any track on sound cloud or something. can't imagine it will bring them much $ but as long as the browsing and online play is free it will probably continue to limp along.

Okay, thanks, I thought I couldn't read properly for a second.

So, yeah, unless this is just the beginning, who cares ?

Soundcloud will survive as long as browsing and playing things are free. Also keeping ads away. I only ever see ads on tracks that are getting tons of views.

The issue is that SC is a for-profit company, and they have to come up with SOMETHING otherwise they'll implode.

You get free hosting and distribution of your tracks with a creative social network as a bonus.

Isn't Soundcloud deep in debt?

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

Use SoundChuck as much as possible, back up all your favorite trax and set up Bandcamps. I really doubt the site's gonna make it another year.

Besides bandcamp, an account at https://hearthis.at might be interesting? While it looks like it still is in infancy phase, a soundcloud clone with little trraffic, the automatic importing feature they have implemented imports all your tracks including descriptions & used pictures with the click of a button.
