Looking for a book similar to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

lol yeah Asimov wrote some great sci-fi but it's the driest shit you'll ever come across.

The Illuminatus trilogy is the most similar series I've read, combines the wit of Hitchhikers with the mid-sentence scene-jumping plotline of Catch 22, in a surreal but vaguely sci-fi setting

I recommend "Earth Inc" by Michael Bollen.

You may know him under his Cassetteboy alias, but he wrote this rather nifty sci fi dystopia novel too

Oh shit, tip o' the day right there!

백호야~~~항상에 사랑할거예요.나의 아들.

Shout outs to the saracens, musulmen and celestials.

tom holt is nowhere near as classy, but writes the exact same sort of comic witty sort of fantasy.scifi stuff.

I was a big fan of Robert Rankin when I was a kid.

Yeah same, he's decent but a lot of it is the same so only read a couple.

Only Forward by Michael Marshall Smith maybe? It's darkly comic and sci-fi, very good too.

"They're about guns, lasers, robots with laser guns in space. Monsters from the future. Explosions. Sylvester Stallone doing a backflip on top of a spike while Robocop carries a ghost up a mountain. Bombs and swords and that... IDM is awesome."
