I'm hardly a closed minded nun. Remember, I'm on a fucking IDM forum.... an IDM forum.. Think about that for a second before claiming people are closed minded nuns.

I've made an effort this year to slow down on the amount of new music I consume and instead listen a bit more to the music I already have

Lots of unknowns in the preceding posts, need to check them out sometime.

Mine:

Hiroshi Watanabe - Multiverse
Borderland - Transport
Nomad Ninja - Avond Sluimer
Occult Orientated Crime - Just A Clown On Crack
Skee Mask - Shred

Still haven't gotten started on the new Ae. :emb:

I honestly haven't listened to too much new stuff lately, but I can tell you that Abbath's self named album and Venetian Snare's Traditional Synthesizer Music are pretty neat.

A lot of the ones mentioned above. Gonna add in these:

Pilotredsun - Achievement (no love for this? contender for aoty for me)

Betonkust & Palmbomen II - Center Parcs

Jega - 1995 (well, released this year so I guess it counts)

Konstantin Klem - Steps

Ash Koosha - I AKA I

Ansome - Stowaway

Jameszoo - Fool

Gizmode - Hairhorn

the new Gangpol & Mit

Edited by ncrtx

Nurse With Wound - Dark Fat. It'll probably take a few more listens through to pick out all the nuances, but S Stapleton never disappoints.

Andrew Liles - Animal Magick. A kangaroo consulting the Kabbalah? The monkey as Magus? An occult ocelot? All presided over by the reincarnated grand illuminatus that is and was Johnny Morris. Say no more.

Razen & Andrew Liles - Rope House Temper. Ok its a new purchase rather than new, but "AxRub" is breton-pipe/hurdy-gurdy drone alchemy.

Javonntte - The Musical Stylings Of... Deep House isnt too popular here, but dare anyone to cue up "These Words" (ignore the rest) for a Zen-House trance groover. And not bs Trance, hypnotic lo-tempo 4/4 at its v best. Thank the gods that this genre is still going strong.

Autechre - elseq 1-5

Kassel Jaeger / Stephan Mathieu / Akira Rabelais - Zauberberg

Matthew Revert / Vanessa Rossetto - Earnest Rubbish

Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith - EARS

Keith Fullerton Whitman - Oto Redactions

Animal Collective - Painting With

Matmos - Ultimate Care II

Foodman - Ez Minzoku

Oren Ambarchi / Kassel Jaeger / James Rushford - Pale Calling

Harry Bertoia - Sonambient: Complete Collection

Pita - Get In

Fox/Soper Duo - Magenta Lines

Chippendale / Gustafsson / Pupillo - Melt

Sophia Loizou - Singulacra

Fog - For Good

Dreamboat - Dreamboat

Reed Evan Rosenberg & Ethan Tripp - Medium Rude

Tim Hecker - Love Streams

Garry Bradbury - Yakovlevian Torque

Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe - Cognition / Observation

If we're just talking #1 then I'm not sure there's even a discussion to be had. Sorry to everyone who happened to drop an album the same year as elseq.
