Beyond the Sepia Cliffs

Some might call it nostalgia, others a rightful homage.

But when that time strikes near, when the subconscious needs play

And when the day is half spent, and the sun barely gazes through clouds

I want those waves, those pulsing 808 currents

compressed under a London fog.

Aliens may have come and gone.

Or may have just arrived.

This is the music that answers that query

And if you listen hard enough, those grainy open hh's might

reveal the X-Files of Cornwall.

I want to ride that electric riptide.

Go beyond digital.

See what's behind those cliffs.

Because there are stories of life

And stories upon stories in buildings upon buildings

in distant cities that you can run up the staircases of.

They look like future subways

straight out of an Adidas commercial circa 1997.

And the pounding tribal energy might be too much to contain

And so there are spikes throughout the Sepia city.

Humans thought "Did they do this?"

But the aliens were really you and I after all.

Except I was pretending.
