Warp - Seven Year Glitch

Right, not sure how long this will stay on Youtube before someone kicks up a fuss, but I've had this sat on a CDr for over a decade and a half and I thought it'd best be out in the digital world before bitrot sets in.

Taken from warprecords.com back when everything was styled with chopped off grey squares (hence the low bit rate). 30 minute documentary following Autechre, B12, Freeform et al during a European tour during the Summer of '96

Wow, nice one. Never saw this before! That annoying blur effect and the editing (let alone the low bitrate) made it hard to watch but a cool piece of history nonetheless :)

first time i saw autechre live. such a great night. halfway through the gig, they opened the roof of the venue. check 6:15. that was so cool. and i had a crush on the red haired girl (coworker) at 6:42.

The one at 22mins onwards is Mira Calix - Khala, but alas the track doesn't seem to be on the youtubes....

I think I first heard this track in 2003 and I don't listen to it often but I love it. It occupies that seemingly extinct niche of ambient with tons of character, Listening now it reminds me of Autechre's Garbage EP quite a bit.

Cheers Pete, a great watch, a real great time to be an electronic music fan, so much good music from so many artists and Warp were at the centre of it. This would have been a fitting extra on that Warp Vision DVD they put out a few years ago.

PS. Combat shorts, socks and sandals must have been so feckin' cool back in '96
