Hey I remember some of you guys were excited about the possibility of a volume 2 from the naming convention of the previous one.  Looks like we're getting another for the end of the year.

Recorded in Haiku-Pauwela, Maui between 3rd Febraury and 14th February 2016

Anthony Child AKA Surgeon presents the second volume of recordings of Buchla Music Easel recorded in the jungle of Maui.
Again we find Child’s in a more ambient guise and setting as the calm breath of the jungle sets a real time back-drop for his electronic explorations. There is no additional layering and all environmental sounds simply ‘occurred’ throughout the improvisations. The range on display veers from melodic drones to sparkling arpeggios all revolving around a thick bed of (Buchla) electronic and (environmental) acoustic interplay. Nine Personality Type Map hovers on a bed of syncopated rhythms whilst the nearby sonic mist of the forest seeths in and out of the frame whilst Nightfall Of Diamonds provides a sonic analogy for the darkness and light contradiction that occurs only in such rich natural environments.
The simultaneous acts of improvising, listening and creating provide a rich setting for the curious listener. Another gem in a catalogue filled with gold.

Again, bastards have split under 80 minutes worth of music across 2 CDs. Which makes it a pricy purchase (editions mego are expensive at the best of times).

I don't understand why they do this. I can understand if they are meant to be separate passages of music it's an excuse. The first release was 2 discs, but thematically they seemed to flow like they should be one.

Where'd you see it was 2cd? Editions Mego site says it is CD/2LP.

boomkat are listing it as 2CD.

i paid about £13 for the first one - not easy to find at that price. it's my benchmark for the second volume.

agree on the splitting across 2 discs being iffy.

Nice! Was hoping for a 2nd one.

Btw did anyone hear this ep from him? It is only cheap but after a listen through I wasn't that excited by it so didn't bother downloading should prob give it another chance as normaly love everything he does

Volume 2 is sounding wicked! It's More of the same really but guess thats to be expected from a volume 2!

Not complaining though as love the vibe he gets on this stuff proper beautiful ambient synth jams and love the subtle use of field recordings
