Patrick Cowley & Candida Royalle – Candida Cosmica

I don't know what to make of this. Weird. Haunting.

Patrick Cowley and Candida Royalle's collaborative EP, Candida Cosmica, will land on Dark Entries in October. 

Cowley was one of the key producers behind San Francisco's hi-NRG sound in the late '70s and early '80s. He also soundtracked a number of gay porn films, music that Dark Entries collected for its School Daze and Muscle Up retrospectives. Next up is a collaborative five-track EP from the late Cowley and his then-roommate Candice Vadalla, AKA Candida Royalle, who passed away a year ago. 

Vadalla was a singer and actress from Queens, New York, who became involved with feminist erotic films, performance art and drag while she was living with Cowley in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury neighborhood. Candida Cosmica showcases her experimental vocal work, with Cowley on synthesizers, percussion, modified guitars and hand-built equipment. It contains 30 minutes of music recorded between 1973 and '75.

interesting: i had no idea candida worked with cowley. this sounds very experimental and rough, not sure i like it. i loved the school daze and muscle up compilations. also, i recently (few months ago) got three candida royalle films: ballgame, blue magic and champagne for breakfast

all three classic pieces of adult entertainment.
