sculptural,unique,obscure instruments music list.

Hello WATMM

i have very recently started compiling a list of sculptural/ mainly resonance based releases-
the criteria is generally : sculptural/installations/natural/obscure instruments

- Artists like Harry Bertoia, Harry Partch, Ellen Fullman, Hans Reichel, Alan lamb, Yosi Wada, Pinuccio Sciola etc etc.
I'm trying to avoid tape manipulated /synthesised/ spoken word as theres plenty lists around for such work on discogs.

its something I'm deeply interested in - any additions are welcome as theres definitely big holes in the list, I'm finding its even missing music i own! my memory just insint what it used to or should be.

i initially started compiling it for my own reference/collecting however with the hope of finding out lots of new/old work i don't know about I'm now pushing it about a bit.

hope its of some interest to folk here,

if a release you can reccomend fits the bill then ill gladly add it.

heres the list as its it stands, early days.

Can think of a couple off hand (I think ... if I'm reading the brief correctly):

Jacob Kirkegaard - 4 Rooms (resonance recordings in Chernobyl) https://www.discogs.com/Jacob-Kirkegaard-4-Rooms/release/670433

Richard Chartier + Taylor Deupree ‎– Specification.Fifteen https://www.discogs.com/Richard-Chartier-Taylor-Deupree-SpecificationFifteen/release/720554

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

Sean Ae yeah so many of these analogue forums are people 90% bragging ang 10% uploading tracks that go fdghfgdhfddhgasfgdsfdsahfdfhdsgfgds

Stephan Micus - The Music of the Stones. Features resonant stones as one of the sound sources.

All of his releases feature some pretty obscure instruments from around the world, mostly flutes and stringed things. Off hand, he uses a Ghanian 'talking drum' called a Dondon and some flowerpots on Desert Poems.

looking for the instruments from Vladislav Delay's FB page, looks like he's deleted it but he has made giant percussive instruments in his attic that look like hanging humanoid spines.

This is all I could find on net

A few days ago I stumbled upon Dawn Scarfe's work with amplifying sinewaves tones through wine glasses passing by a small loudspeaker.

A CD was released on Melange Edition as well, "Tuning to Spheres". Wonderful tones

Thanks Hasselbach, added, it to the list.  v nice,

Cliff Stapleton's lp "Tumbling of Creatures" is a sweet recent release in this vein, building melodies through hurdy-gurdy drone madness with some other sounds of obscure provenance, if you can source his releases outside of the usual Coil material you're in for a treat
