ilkae is extremely underrated imo, a lot of great stuff made both when ilkae was a duo and when it became just one person

I have heard their (his?) tracks on the Touched comps and they are always a highlight.

Pistachio Island is a masterpiece, haven't dug super deep into his other work but I come back to that album quite a bit.

One of the first alternative IDM artists (along with Machinedrum) I listened to after listening to AFX and the like. Pistachio Island is so dense I often find myself in awe at different parts of the record that I've listened to before but have clearly missed or skipped a certain texture or sound. It's a classic to me.

Somewhere I've a 4x10inch (I think, could be 4x7inch) compilation of Pistachio Island remixes from various people. They're all lovely and remind me of Super Mario Sunshine for some reason....

This is my favorite Ilkae track I've heard, the way the first half morphs into the second is just so cool. Super organic and flowy, reminds me of some bits off Syro.

Reviving this to tell you all Ilkae is such a hidden gem of the IDM genre and it sucks he doesn’t get more recognition. Formal Format one of my albums of the year. Aaron really has a sound of own... friend of mine showed me his work and started me out with Primer when Ilkae was still a duo with Krystian Lubiszewski too. I love all the chiptune melodies you hear in Ilkae’s music, awesome beats too. Ambient tracks like The Green Spectrum are a beaut!
