London record shops (electronic, ambient, idm)

Recommended Posts

Was wondering if anyone has some tips for some record shops in London with a big collection of electronic music.

Is Berwick st. the place to be?

That guy has a shop tucked away in Hackney wick called Vinyl Pimp, lots of rare idm stuff although pricey. Seems to have loads of planet mu white label test pressings at the moment

Alas that place is no more ... Wandered up and down Berwick St. and the neighboring roads as I could've sworn it was somewhere nearby - Finally figured out the building size/shape of a Paperchase shop was now taking up that space :(

Think Reckless has taken some of their stock, some of them have the descriptions written on labels that I think were something Sister Ray used to do...

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

OH MY GOD....... I, I just don't .... What the hell was wrong with me that day ?! Pretty sure I stared at that shop front as well and just thought: 'That can't be the same shop ... it's all gone small'

Fucking hell.

Yeah it's gone small but there's still a decent load of records downstairs, still worth a look. It did used to be where paperchase is now but they moved across the road a few years ago

same here lol, walked right past it when I went there a few years ago. Most of the records are in the basement now

Used to have a really good 'ambient/drone/weird' section (their name !), hope that's still the case !
