The new album 'Behind The Glass' (on his label Woe to The Septic Heart) will be released in July and sees Shackleton team up with the enigmatic chanteuse Anika. Together they have produced a staggeringly powerful statement with layer upon layer of musical depth and complexity and an emotional quality that is both haunting and moving at the same time.

The live show (set to debut in August at Atonal Festival, Berlin) will feature two virtuoso musicians playing marimba and keyboards In addition to Sam Shackleton and Anika on stage.

Hmm... I thought this was Anneka at first. Either way Shackleton + female vocals is intriguing to me.

seems like this one is going to complete a nice little trifecta with the Ernesto Tomasini and Vengence Tenfold collaborations on Honest Jons.

Loving this stuff by the way. You can pretty much smell the nag champa in the air every time you put one of those records on.

afaik i usually place all my cum drops on scientifically sterilized glass slides which are carefully frozen and placed in trash cans throughout the city labelled "for women ❤️ alco" with my social security and phone numbers.

Love the boomkat blurb for this

Shackleton curves back to Woe To The Septic Heart! with British-German singer-songwriter Anika as his new vocal muse, who lends a refreshing new spirit to his sound following collaborations with Ernesto Tomasini and Vengeance Tenfold in recent years.

Perhaps knowingly timed for release with UK summertime, Behind The Glass is a decidedly mid-summery album full of semi-pastoral psychedelic themes and production in Shackleton’s signature style, equal parts Wickerman soundtrack and Jarman-esque uncanniness with a dash of worcester sauce sourness dosed direct to the pineal gland.

Think ritual dogging sites, lost Spiral Tribe members attempting to find their way out of a nuclear bunker for 20 years, or pagan aliens descending at full moon over Welsh glades. The production, as ever, is incredible.

Anyways my vinylz turned up last night and I will give it a spin tonight
