Hello all.

Recently (for the last two years) ive been involved on a location based  acoustics project with a team/label "Esk". Sam Annand, Craig Gallagher, Paul Gault, Scott Gordon.

2 weeks ago  for one of our locations we visited Inchindown, the worlds longest reverb and played  a site specific  composition  based on  implulse responses into the space. Thats the central theme of the project in a nutshell.

we are going to start the release process shortly but heres a glimpse of the recording session.

its quite easily the most surreal space i have ever encountered. 1 min 12 reverb. absolutely insane.

project details and other locations can be found on our website which is being updated as we work ou way through the material.

full release scheduled will be updated in due course.

thanks

Scott.

Thanks. yes- its was a pretty insane experience. the floor of the space was entirely covered in marbled residual oil, looked amazing iridescent

colours. a lit up when it caught the light, that was trippy enough. almost impossible to describe the physicality of the sound,  we had three different recorders setup and we managed to get a pretty good representation, totally mental tho. short percussive noises seem to almost separate sf become all harmonic, and when you breech a certain threshold theres this huge slap back followed by a kind of surge of lows.  this would change depending on your listening position,  really something else.  i hope we can do it justice through the release. gave it our best shot anyway.

this is REALLY cool

Stoked to watch OA II. The movement thing never bothered me, anyone familiar with Druidic studies will recognize the importance of movement to get to higher planes.

Scott, do you have an impulse response of the space?

I noticed Scott commented on this on and did a little digging and voila!

Here you go!

Thanks for linking that. sorry , I've been away but yeah those are the impulses available.

we would ideally have done a sweep of the place to compliment trevor cox's  Ir's but we ran out of time and generator fuel on the day. must have been about 9 hours in there so we were all absolutely covered in oil etc, had to bail.

anyway-  so you know.  a lot of IR plugins do not support this because its soo long.  'reverberate"  works if i remember and possibly altiverb. i think i used both and will check with Sam but I'm sure he used altiverb as swell. .

Very Cool

I really enjoy all the projects you've put out, Scott.
