Building drum sampler maps???

Recommended Posts

Yea I have ableton and like drum racks.  Thank you so much for the feedback.  To be more specific im thinking of taking a break and chopping it up + variations on it's componet sounds + relevant additional drum herbs and spices.   For example getting a tempo for a break and cutting it into quarters, then using an octave for pitched snare, pitched bass drum, then an octave for effected hits, layered hits... etc.   Basically just one big drum rack for a song that I can sequence.

I'm feeling out how people approach this style of working.

Like Squarepushers has those reaktor samplers he uses so he can just bust a midi cc and get "sp-style fx #1" on this note and so on.  Just his set up is super complex beyond my current ability to suss out.  But I'd like to see how he approaches his sample maps too.

Anyone else?

Aye the drum rack is perfect for that, each hit can contain an entire instrument rack so it can be used to go break mental a la:

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.
