I don't think there's any similar topic already, to share those bits of music we won't bother to finish / consider "proper" tunes... but still remain somehow enjoyable.

I'm slowly getting over a huge writer-block (I'm talking years here...), and that's the first fresh bit of music I'm satisfied with in a very long time. I'm aiming for more minimalistic, 4/4 driven stuff than what I used to do.:

Nice1,you could easily loop this for a few minutes imo, play some pads above, arrange etc and have a tune :) .

Btw threads like these come & go, this is one posted in the ekt general discussion forum that I remember; https://forum.watmm.com/topic/91836-shitty-demos-we-like/page-1

Here's an example clip of a track for an Oelek project I'm working on. Generated about 20 different latin flavored arrangements, different time signatures, various tempo's, mainly cheese :cisfor: . All sampled instruments which still need to be pimped in Renoise using modulation and effects, just the grid's for now.

When I was in high school I used to listen to Aphex and Squarepusher a lot while doing my science homework (classes got aced!). This sequence makes me want to do chemistry for some reason :)

Randomly spawned via Magellan Jr earlier this week. I made it downloadable and creative commons if anybody wants to run with it

@Djeorek: thanks! I don't think I'll keep on working on that thought, can't find any interesting pad / melody to nuance it all... but it felt good to somehow "finish" something, no matter how concise it is :)

Nice sketch as well! Quite different from the Plugexpert tracks I've listened to (but I've just noticed on your BC that you have loads of different projects).

@sweepstakes: dump!

@claudius t ansuulim: my high school years would have been quite different if I had already known the 'Phex and >[]

Basically I realized some weeks ago that I've spent the last 16 years trying to write music that I wish I could make... rather than music I could write, which taught me an insane lot but also led to so much frustration. I'm now exploring some sort of middle-ground in between. It's equally as challenging, yet quite relieving. Experience kicks in :)
