NEO·GEO is probably the most IDM game console - uber expensive (still is), cartridges the size of VHS cassettes with TWO PCB boards in them, exact same games in the arcade as the home (because the home and arcade are the same GODDAMN hardware!), and a IDGAF attitude about gaming trends, etc. - they released games they wanted to make - THAT, my friends is what makes an IDM console.
