Cubase/Line 6 POD HD500X/Arturia KeyStep/Moog Mother-32

Recommended Posts

Is it Possible? I don't use cubase other than recording guitar and using VSTi's for synths and what not. I'm getting a audio midi interface soon, but i'm bored and want to know if i can program midi tracks into Cubase with my Mother-32 with the KeyStep and record that, into a audio track with the POD...?

Step by step if you're willing to halp.

But before you do, let me tell you how i've got things setup thus far. I've got the KeyStep running USB to my PC and a Midi cable going out, to the in of the Mother-32 and?????

If i can get around to it, i'll upload a mothers ditty.

your keystep sends midi both trough usb cable and trough midi cable so, if you have it plugged to your pc trough usb you should be able to record a midi track in cubase at the same time that you're sending midi trough midi cable to your mother-32...

now, i don't quite understand what you mean when you say you want to record that into an audio track with the pod... do you have your mother-32 outputs going into the pod?

Well, Til i buy an audio interface with midi how would i be able to record multiple tracks with my 32?

Here's my config...

Mother-32>POD Audio>USB>PC>Cubase Audio Tracking

KeyStep>Midi>USB>PC>Cubase Midi Tracking/Piano Roll

What i don't understand is, how do i get the Mother-32 to sound it's audio once a melody is programmed in a Midi Track?

And.... Have the Mother-32 sounded through the POD, recording into a Audio Track?

I can't remember which option is the correct one til i get sound.

oh, right, if you don't have a midi out from your audio interface you can't send midi from cubase to your m-32...

you can record the midi in cubase (trough the usb cable with you keystep) while listening and/or recording the audio from your m-32+pod in cubase... but after that you cannot send the midi back to your m-32 without an audio interface with midi out...
