So after years of DJing I decided it’s time to start making some music. I’d like to know WATMM’s thought on this, decent start or boring little ditty?

Hi Calx, this kinda reminds me of my first efforts when I went from DJing to production. You've got a solid base here, try adding some stuff to keep the attention (is currently just drum track + acid bass). Also look to adding variants of both tracks to develop the theme. When you listen to some of Aphex's early stuff, he will start with something like this, then take you by surprise; it doesn't need much to elevate it.
