Thiefinger
I have no idea if this is utter shit or even remotely enjoyable to listen to but I've been having lots of fun making these piece of shit tracks. Basically just throwing all musicality out of the window and seeing if I can make funny sounding noises. https://soundcloud.com/rottatohtori 2 examples: Edited February 22, 2018 by Thiefinger Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/94739-rottatohtori/ Share on other sites
auxien
Didn't check out the rest yet, but these two posted are both at least remotely enjoyable :) Semmonen Ilta took a little bit for me to get into, but once I did I enjoyed it. Lomareissu is pretty damned nice, if a little bit meandering. That groove is catchy though, could see both of these as part of a an album. All that said, the dirtiness/noisiness wasn't too great. It works in ways, contributes to the mood, but I also could see that maybe being in the way for some listeners or for repeated listenings. It feels good, but it also feels a touch too much? Maybe just my first impressions though! Like them, no matter what, curious to check out what else in this vein you've got. I want techno like this to be clear as daylight and punch me right in the face. I'm sure under all the low-fi-ishness there's a banger of a track :) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/94739-rottatohtori/#findComment-2613367 Share on other sites
Thiefinger
Made just recently some more of this stuff:noisy thing: recorded myself drumming on stuff I found around the house and worked with that material: and just some drone stuff: Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/94739-rottatohtori/#findComment-2619295 Share on other sites
auxien
Rottakeisari is good. I don't usually go big for noise/drone type stuff, but it's very good. Noonhan is also good, but not quite as affecting as Rotta. Kaatopaikkapelle didn't do much for me. Avaruusnarri is evil as fuck and I love that. The filter sweep type sounds got a little in the way but not too much. Very rich tones layered here. (quick confession, I listened to these on my phone so I'm really looking forward to hearing them again later on real speakers) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide auxien's signature Hide all signatures / b c / m a s t o d o n / b l o t / Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/94739-rottatohtori/#findComment-2623804 Share on other sites
Vihta
This is the sub-genre of noise, "suominoise". User300401
On a concept like the first track take control of sound is essential, the concept is good but the soud is cheap. In "suominoise" a track like this sounds more clear, bright and wet, actually analog. In this regard the drone track is good. dingformung
I've only listened to the first one you posted but I actually enjoyed it quite much. It's minimal but at the same time everchanging and I dig the atmosphere. Not a bad track Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide dingformung's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/94739-rottatohtori/#findComment-2631756 Share on other sites
Silent Member
Noonahn is my favourite of these by far, but they're all mostly good. I think you should keep exploring this style.
