Deep and pensive piano workouts that seem to balance the best of Windham Hill’s easy listening ventures with the more refined approach of Eno et al. Each track on Static is taken from Mirra’s archives, and each was composed for surf films spanning the past four years. Not the kind of thing we get in often! His collaborative piece with Charles Dance, ‘Edges of Sanity’ is particularly noteworthy.
