There was this whole lawsuit situation, which I believe was eventually dropped:

^ neat AF

Man, had no idea he had such a rough last year - his wife passed last year and he dealt with elder abuse and exploitation via Keya Morgan.

I can't really add anything, I liked his Marvel creations was much as any other kid. The biggest distinction of Lee was his ethos and progressive vision as an artist and creator. He was such a friendly and unpretentious figure, I can't think of better ambassador for comic culture and the main reason this loss seems so much more personal compared to the losses of his equally important peers Ditko and Kirby.

You can always tell a Stan Lee character from the matching first letter of their names:

Peter Parker

Sue Storm

Stephen Strange

etc.

etc.

nvm, posting this in the celebrity thread, more appropriate

as someone who knows nothing about marvel, stan lee, etc, im curious: did he create all of the iconic characters like spiderman/batman, just some of them, or was he more of just a figurehead for comics?  i get that he was a big deal, but all the articles ive seen are very vague about what exactly he did. RIP

he created or co-created most of the iconic marvel characters, spider-man, hulk, x-men, fantastic four, iron man, captain america. jack kirby and steve ditko are the most well known of his collaborators. i guess later he was more of a figurehead. but a legend of the scene no doubt. batman was bob kane and bill finger in the early 40s.

very much debatable... this is a great read if you're interested in what went down behind the scenes back then https://www.amazon.es/Marvel-Comics-Untold-Sean-Howe/dp/0061992100
