Novation Peak

Recommended Posts

When I first heard about this synth I didn't get what it was really trying to do but looking through some videos since it came out and seeing these updates it's starting to make sense. Perhaps actually worth the cash now with all this, haven't watched the video yet tho going to later, curious to hear those new wavetables...lots have been asking for this

Novation has been doing a great job with the recent firmware updates. I don't need more gear but I'm tempted to swap my monologue for one of their less expensive options (BS2, Circuit Mono)

Loopop also did a great overview of the new features:

For some reason I can't stand that dude in novation's videos.

Novation Twin Peaks (officially dubbed Novation Summit) announced.

Novation 2xPeaks, 2 part multi-timbral. I believe it's possible to make it 1 big synth with 2 filters in the signal path. Also nice having the extra functionality from the Peak brought forward to the front panel on this thing (but I think more nice is that, the extra functionality from this was brought to the Peak ? ).
Except for the FM (Osc 3 > Osc 1, etc.) part. Unless i'm mistaken, that is new here.

I recently pulled the trigger on a Novation Summit. I was also considering an OB-6 or waiting for a UDO Super 6 but the idea of a 'Twin Peaks' (2 Novation Peaks combined in a monster synth) was too appealing in the end. While exploring the Multi presets (where each Peak engine can be played individually, split across the keyboard on different MIDI channels) I found one called 'Bored In Canada'. I thought it was pretty convincing so I tried to make a quick track with it that channeled a bit of the brothers Sandison and Eoin energy. Apologies. Drums and sequencing provided by a Yamaha RS7000.
