I'll watch it on Netflix.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

Thom is also set for a US tour performing Tomorrow's Modern Boxes:

Songs from all over his solo discog, not just Boxes.

The set at DFN a couple years ago (with several Anima songs) was one of my best concert experiences, ever. Songs were pumping hard in that warehouse space. Shared a nice out of body experience with fellow WATMMer, Omnii as well.

Been waiting awhile for a few of these tunes to see the light of day on record.

PUMPED.

I’m trying hard to wait until tomorrrow. A few of their new tunes on his last tour were definitely next level for him and nigel. Looking forward to how they came out...

2 listens and disappointed by this one. The songs just aren't there this time around. Maybe the weakest album yet to come from the Thom or Jonny clan. And I adored Eraser/TMB.

Oh well, hopefully a grower

first listen now. immediate reaction is that palette wise this is right there next to TMB. i recon the "the songs just aren't there" criticism is something i've felt with a good chunk thom's solo output but generally it has a way to pull through and be enjoyable. curious how this one plays out.

I think the album is excellent, I already like it more than TMB although that final 2 track run on TMB is unforgettable.

Hard to top Eraser due to personal reasons and timing of that release but Anima is a great effort. Several standouts on this.

After about 10 listens (2.5-3.5/5 range):

Twist
The axe

^these are the 2 standouts (longest for a reason)

Not the news
Runwayaway
Impossible knots
Traffic
I am a very rude person

^all very groovy

Dawn chorus
Last I heard (…he was circling the drain)

^nice, but need more growing

The axe has been the biggest grower.

I wish Eraser had sound design like this. His material on the previous two albums is a lot stronger for mine, but the production and vocal technique here is more adventurous.
