warmtape
these are some recent one take jams (though mixed in-box as I don't have a mixer). sadly, i have no friends who make music, so any feedback is much appreciated (especially on the mix, etc.) Edited August 1, 2019 by warmtape ManjuShri 1 Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/97423-thoughts/ Share on other sites
snack master
"come enough" is my favorite and has some pretty cool things going on. i also like STP917B but find the other two tracks to be on the weaker side of things (with east of eve needing a better mix IMO). however, this is all subjective, so i dunno how useful this feedback is. auxien
just listened to STP917B....acid sounds, that high lead synth sound, are good sounds, you're keeping the melodies and lines moving and interesting, so that's good. that sorta pull back at a little after 4:00 minutes til the end is a nice section and has some good build. feels like you're throwing a few too many things into the bag here tho, maybe a touch less on the groove changes? feels like you're going for a dance vibe but then every 45 seconds the groove cuts in half or weirds out or drops out entirely and any gains are lost....but the mix/sounds seem to be suggesting this is more for dance feels/vibes/etc. drums are mixed too low and weak, especially if you're going for dance tracks. i think your mix on the synths and effects is pretty good, just need to find some good space for the drums! come enough keeps the vibes more consistent and i think the drums are a touch better mixed (the stereo chittery percussive stuff is a touch loud/distracting tho imo).... really liked the sorta contained break section about 4:30ish, was very nice there! great energy on the slowing down/wilding out outro too! Expand I couldn't have said it better myself. There's wayyyy too much stuff going on, and I know microtonality is the fucking bomb when it comes to IDM and what not but 3oblue is way out of tune. nauticaloperator
Damn dude, there's a lot to take in with these tracks. I'll agree with auxien here, not so much on everything but definitely on the groove changes. That's just my personal preference / opinion so take it with a grain of salt and remember if you're digging it then just ignore me. Really solid afx vibes throughout, can definitely tell you put some time into these. Personal favorite is STP917B. Gave you a follow on SC, look forward to hearing more!
