Looks like a bit of a novelty. Just reminded me that Vestax brought out an "affordable" lathe around 20 years ago. Can't remember the price, I think it was well over $10k. I never saw one in real life unfortunately, but I recall being told that the dubplate quality wasn't all that good. I really wanted one.

I'm very torn on physical media. It's really cool to have something you can hold in your hand and look at while you listen. Something with large art that you don't have to look at on a computer screen, but the environmental impact is pretty gross. The world doesn't need more plastic.
