Guest Basi Goreng
I've listened to some of your tracks before. I think i also commented on 1 or 2 in a previous life on watmm. I like the melodies, ambience and feel of your tracks, but the beats really get on my nerves. They sound dry and uninspired. Do you also do beatless stuff? Guest ChrisHipgrave
I like the feel of look here but it doesn't really go anywhere and the beat is too lound in my opinion. Floatation device has a better melodic structure but again i think the beats are too loud. Good work though, keep it up. Alzado
loafeye, your tunes are sounding more mature and sophisticated. the layered grooves in look here gel very well together. the slow drone that forms the bedrock of the track has a nice, pot haze kind of feel to it...a lazy head flop of a groove. the beat could be lower in the mix i think, but that's my only criticism. otherwise, very nice. Guest Promo
Yeah these were okay I guess. I've listened to them a few times. I dunno I suppose I found them a little dull compared with the last ones you posted. I think my main crit for 'look here' would be that the beatz (especially) the kick is just too loud. I think sometimes your beatz are too dominant in the mix. Yeah thought it was okay I guess. I quite like the 2nd phrase of notes/sounds. I do think it'd be nice if more happened in this track though overall. Track 2 'Floatation device' has that typical Loafeye hazy summer evening 70s feel about. I feel the beat is better 'cause its less in your face. I like the phaser and delay effect on the beat. The 2nd layer of melody reminds me a lot of Kraftwerk's/Neu!'s simple melodies. Yeah something kinda Krautrock like about this one I'd say. Again not bad if I'm truthful. Your sounds are supa rich but sometimes I feel certain of your tracks don't have the same strong feel of other tracks. Not bad I'd say. I could hear another layer on top of this tune and slight change in notes here and there to just really take it to the level of lushness!! Its hard to explain I can hear/feel some notes in my head which would just make this track like mindblowing. Yeah overall some pretty 'nice' stuff. Not the mindblowing lushness I was really hoping for but certainly your sounds are supa rich. Dunno just feel with some of your tunes there is the potential to squeeze some serious tear jerking emotion out of them and yet you hold back. Again not bad Lo-fi mate but I feel like I want more out of your tunes sometimes.
