There's this one. An argument could be made for merging them.

that nathan micay was nothing special. Has no place on there even though I didn’t hate it.

That’s my Spotify plist for best tracks of the year if anyone is interested. Play in order please

Electronic wise Fennesz and Underworld sealed the deal for me.

Underworld I don't need to explain, but I can't explain why Agora hooked me in so much. I don't (think I) like anything else he's ever done.

Of the aforementioned:

Underworld - Drift Series 1 (My "album" of the year)

Karl and Rick having the most fun of their lives -- creating some of the most emotionally stirring music of their career.

Barker - Utility (plus his incredible FACT mix: https://www.factmag.com/2019/08/07/barker-ostgut-ton-fact-mix/)

Pure pulsating ecstasy.

Honorable mentions: Datach'i, Plaid, 808 State, Special Request albums, Fennesz, Thom Yorke, Alessandro Cortini, Meat Beat Manifesto

Yet to be mentioned (but almost equally as good or better than the above):

Christoph de Babalon - Hectic Shakes

Pulsating, angry ambient-hardcore? Yes, pls.

https://christophdebabalon.bandcamp.com/album/hectic-shakes

36 - The Lower Lights

Vibrant, deep ambient waking dreams.

https://pitp.bandcamp.com/album/the-lower-lights

William Fields - Fields OS

Best algorithimic music I've ever heard (and Rich Devine agrees). Still have not fully digested these.

https://williamfields.bandcamp.com/album/fieldsos

Wanderwelle & Bandhagens Musikforening - Victory Over The Sun

Conjures deep visions. Unveils new realms on every listen for me.

https://semanticarecords.bandcamp.com/album/victory-over-the-sun-semantica-113

Topdown Dialectic - Vol. 2

Like the bastard child of Vladislav Delay and Convextion.  Super lush.

https://peakoil.bandcamp.com/album/vol-2

Sweguno - Adapteras

One of our favorite peers bringing deep, hypnotic, operatic and at times, hyperactive grooves. Love it.

https://atavisticspasmrecords.bandcamp.com/album/adapteras-ep

Pyramids of Space - FROM AtoM

As if old-school RDJ collabed with Two Lone Swordsmen

https://pyramidsofspace.bandcamp.com/album/from-atom

Norwell - New Physics

Just some slammin electro from one of the best in the game.

https://lobstertheremin.com/album/new-physics-ep

Lifted - 2

Collective improv album by Max D, Co La, Motion Graphics, etc.  Music to get lost to.

https://lifted-1.bandcamp.com/album/2

Izanagi - Apnea

Best "braindance" I've heard all year (and I've listened to a lot).

https://izanagiofficial.bandcamp.com/album/apnea

Humanoid - Built by Humanoid

Hyper acidic alternate dimension beats by one of the greats.

https://www.fsoldigital.com/product/humanoid-built-by-humanoid/

Die Erzeugung - Ruckkehr

Dubbed out electronics in the vein of wAgAwAga.  Huge attention to detail on this collection.  Josh make some of my favorite tunes.

https://dasdreieck.bandcamp.com/album/r-ckkehr

Cygnus - Liquid Sunlight

Really for the track "Behold The Spirit" alone.  Yet all four hit the right buttons.

https://burek.bandcamp.com/album/liquid-sunlight-ep

Marco Repetto - Eta Aquariids

Psychedelic techno from the man known as Bigeneric (and one half of Synectics).  Discovering his discography was one of my best finds in 2019.

https://www.discogs.com/Marco-Repetto-Eta-Aquariids/release/13486549

Guy Evans/DJ Guy - OWMU001

Best slice of wax I picked up this year.  "Interplanetary" is my jam.

https://www.discogs.com/DJ-Guy-OWMU001/release/13862513

AQXDM - Infared

Bangers.  All of them.

https://aqxdm.bandcamp.com/album/infrared

Honorable mentions from not yet mentioned: Mikron - Severance; Morphology - Collective Memory; Max D - Many Any; Locust - Red & Green eps; Karsten Pflum - City of Thieves; Karenn - Grapefruit Regret; Jodey Kendrick - EDM M; Goldefish - Passive Pleasure; As One - Communion; Fluctuosa - RIP MC 909; Darren Nye - Grand Solar Minimum; Donnacha Costello - Sliced Life; Milieu - Shallow Earth; Wee DJs - Crisps eps; Bass Clef - 111 Angelic Midi Cascade; Acrelid - Illegal Rave Tapes Box Set

Tons of great stuff released / listened to this years, and my fav of the bunch is :1888030903_Capturedecran2019-11-30a10_49_27.thumb.png.3949e328dc950e53737bf95c75c1b27d.png

Now, I haven't listened to the new AE LIVE sets, even though I love the older ones. Didn't have the dough when they got released, and totally forgot about them since then.

Other pretty, pretty, pretty good releases definitely worth mentioning by Le Dom, Ssaliva, Antwood, Croatian Amor, Kindohm, Lee Gamble, Shapednoise, King Midas Sound..

Only just listened to the Barbieri, but I’d probably add to my list. I’m guessing I’ll say the same about the new Shed.
