And Trapped by hell interface I guess I'll add.

What else?

Nlogax was on hi scores..  That makes sense then.

Maybe the fans should really be asking for a hell interface album...

It's mainly gonna be pre-MHTRTC material, as I feel that was the pivotal moment where they honed in on their signature sound.

Always felt this was more in Disjecta or Gescom territory, or ambient techno tinged Seefeel.

Lot of BoC fans on the subreddit seem to dislike this and "Nlogax" but I personally wish they put out more like this.

ditto on nlogax--that's one of my favorites of theirs.

Dayvan Cowboy ?

Sounds like AIR doing the BGM for a Chevrolet ad.

Yeah I feel this. It's not a bad track but I never go out of my way to listen to this one.

The first half is still very much BoC in their element, 2:18 is straight up Moby-esque strings (hear the AIR sound too) and it sticks out. I didn't quite realize this when I first heard it since I was just getting into the group and was geeking out about them putting out new music. I recall waiting hours for the "Dayvan Cowboy" quicktime video to load because my parents had shitty DSL internet at the time.

oscar see through red eye, in the context of TCH seems out of place for me, still a great song.

I remember that being the first single.... It was a teaser before headphase was released.

The track I like to think of as "What a treat". They do the vocal mashing but the clicky drums (which remind me of the sound of fast forwarding tracks on cd) don't sound like their usual stuff.

i love that track

Some interesting comments from that youtube vid indicate the vocal samples may have come from recordings of the audience made earlier that day:

are the vocals saying 'Mike is singing, Marcus singing'?

"phone is ringing". They walked around in the crowd beforehand recording people. They recorded some girl with her cell phone. Then processed it through their Korg Vocoder and loaded in up on their sampler before the performance along with other samples they made that day of the crowd sounds/talking/cell ringing..

@vertsk8er419 Not full improv. No Ableton back then. They had a MIDI sequence programmed on the Akai S3200 for drums and dabbled on top of it, Yamaha A3000 for other samples. That wasn't uncommon for live electronic at the time to have most your track sequenced already. Not to take away anything from it, but it was not as spontaneous as you might think. They definitely brought the tune mostly finished with them. It would have taken hours to program and load/tweak all the music samples used, based on what we hear.

Interesting to consider, but I don’t buy it entirely. Why should we take this “Alien Isotope” as having privileged access to that information?

That's why I used the word "may'.

Not accusing you or anyone here. I was just surprised how people accepted the comments without qualifications in the original YouTube thread.
