gated
This has very little to do with electronic music so I'm in two minds whether to post it here. Anyway maybe you'll be interested because it marks a bit of a departure for us as a label. It's also a very good album, so I'd be interested to hear your thoughts either way. Extralife
It certainly is a departure for you, but credit to you for diversifying. These are some really intimate tunes. Seems like a fascinating artist -- curious to know how you tracked this down for release. I've known Sophie (Sol Seppy) since she released her debut album in 2006. I met her a few times around that time then mostly lost contact until she released I.A.A.Y.A on CD. I bought a copy and figured it might be worth seeing if I could persuade her to let us release it. She's much more established in the music world than we are and has been through a lot. I sent her a few emails but she's so bad with technology that it took a long time to even hear from her. I was just about to give up but sent her a final email more or less begging to release the album. And she agreed. So since then we've been in regular contact and worked closely on the sleeve design and other aspects of the release. She is fascinating and there's lot she's done that very few people know about. We're just about to launch a podcast based around interviews and she'll be the first guest.
