plastic
So like, you're playing stuff through your DAW and/or soundcard inputs and you want to broadcast it over the internet. What kind of software is out there that allows you to do this? Any freeware? A search on google wasn't leading me anywhere fast. I know it has had to have been done before... Guest bowen
max/msp and Olaf Matthes shoutcast external. http://www.akustische-kunst.org/maxmsp/ Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/9867-realtime-mp3-encodingbroadcasting/#findComment-201702 Share on other sites
Guest iep
you could also just use shoutcast without maxmsp, just configure it to broadcast the signal from your soundcard input and connect an output bus from your mixer to an input from your soundcard! at least, thats how i do it Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/9867-realtime-mp3-encodingbroadcasting/#findComment-201706 Share on other sites

I already had that external hidden in downloads somewhere. thanks for reminding me of it! We'll see if just going through shoutcast is less cpu intensive though. Guest blicero
shoutcast + winamp piece of piss. i have no clue why anyone would want to get max/msp involved... prolly for the same reason most people bother with max/msp... so they can say that they bothered with max/msp. from now on, i'm gonna make all my music in assembly language and then perform it live using CSound and a soldering iron!
