The Ignoramus Thread

Okay, I'm just gonna go ahead and say it:

I have never watched The Godfather. Neither of them.

I have never watched The Wire.

I have never heard The Dark Side of the Moon.

I have never read Infinite Jest.

In my defense: All of these works are in my possession, I just haven't gotten around to watch/listen to/read them. The Godfather has been so referenced to death that I kind of feel I don't even have to anymore, it's like I've seen it a thousand times.

Which essential, canonical piece of art have you never experienced, and why? Share it here, and no one in the real world will ever know!

I never got past the first three pages of Finnegans Wake.

I have absolutely no intention of ever reading "Infinite Jest". Or books by Thomas Pynchon. Or any other book that is more than 2 - 300 pages that I haven't read yet.

I can't get through most Aphex Twin albums in one sitting.

I haven't read more than a handful of Shakespeare plays and thoroughly disliked the ones I did have to read for school / uni.

I think wine is just grape juice with alcohol. Boring.

I think abstract art is mostly rubbish.

There are plenty of "essential movies" I haven't seen.. The only MCU movies I've watched are Dr. Strange and Deadpool. Haven't seen any of the Transformers movies. The only Disney feature films I've seen are Alice in Wonderland and the Sword in the Stone. I haven't seen any of the Bond movies after License to Kill. Titanic. Hobbit(s). None of the Harry Potters after the first one.

Also plenty of TV series I haven't seen: Breaking Bad, The Wire, Chernobyl, Game of Thrones, Narcos, Peaky Blinders, West Wing, House of Cards, Better Call Saul, Westworld, Downton Abbey, Parks and Rec, Mad Men, ...

I don't finish most books I start reading

I only started listening to zappa in my 30s... but damn, can't stop listening to it since then... 

I've yet to witness a bald eagle drop a giant shit mid-flight. I'd imagine it's one of the most majestic experiences imaginable.

The only tv series i have ever watched were Twin Peaks and Mad Men.

Haven't listened to Ae's NTS stuff (yet).

I know very little about economics and laws.

I'm always behind the current "hot" stuffs and trends (and I like it).

I've never felt the urge to perve on anyone (I guess I should work in abuse-prone environments)

Idgaf about choice of food/clothes/shelter (I guess I'd make a good communist)

I've never used Twitter/Instagram/Pinterest/Zoom/haven't used FB in 6 years/Don't care to have Netflix

Ive never been anywhere near America or Europe

I don't remember learning to walk or read, always been pre-memory
