Anodyne - Decay (Acroplane Recordings)

Irish artist Anodyne returns to Acroplane following releases with Skam and Analogical Force with Decay - a darkrave colossus that is likely his most explosive release since his 2010 LP, Corrosion.

This is the first of a series of releases on Acroplane that will be released on physical formats as well as the usual digital files. For this release 150 copies will be available on audio cassette.

A small number of t-shirts are available for purchase too.

Available to pre-order now via the Acroplane Bandcamp and also Bleep

Released Friday 3rd July on www.acroplane.org

Released everywhere else on Monday 13th July

Dunno much about Anodyne tbh, but that Ae remix of Close Your Eyes is quite powerful. More for me to explore.

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.

  • 2 weeks later...

Available to buy and stream from today on our Bandcamp!

This is a big release for us. As long as we keep covering our costs we will keep releasing on physical formats instead of just digi. Running a small label like this, every purchase counts.

Today is also a Bandcamp Day, so the label would be especially well supported by a purchase.

There are a few reviews incoming. Here is the first from Bleep.com..

"anodyne’s Decay LP is a journey into the dark heart of the party. From start to finish this is a brooding and sometimes rather tortured set which, even though it still brings dancefloor heat on every track, feels like it is constantly at war with itself. anodyne skews towards the more stern and foreboding end of club sonics here - the influence of Surgeon and Scorn is felt throughout, as are the anarcho-dub aesthetics of The Bug, and there are also nods to the malevolent end of breakbeat. At times all of this becomes too much for Decay to bear and the beats collapse in on themselves, as they do on the ominous synthscape centerpiece ‘Everybody Dies’ "

We've a small number of t-shirts available too. Half gone already, so grab em soon if interested.

Just picked up the digital.  Reminds me of the Blush Response album released earlier this year on Schematic.  Really heavy stuff.

I dig.

I remember early days of acroplane, glad to see you're still going. Wish there was more of a scene here in Northern Ireland.

Thanks. Yeah, we've slowed our schedule to a few releases a year over the past while, but we might be getting back to putting out things a bit more regularly again.

I gave up on running gigs in Belfast. We had a good run with it all, but it's too tricky to get a good turnout unless you book someone huge that costs silly money.

Aye the Resist crowd was booking some decent experimental stuff for a while but it seemed to dry up. Shame to see Menagerie close again as well. But who knows what will be left now. Hoping for more opportunities for local djs and producers after this hard reset.

Awesome album!!! ? Immediatly loved Codebreaker, I recognize the breaks from some Deathchant track as well ? But great listen troughout...especially loved Light That Never Fades and Illusion Of Gods...Light That Never Fades really has these looming synths in the background, love the eerie sound of it...Illusion of Gods is just really nicely gritty and flowy...really good album! ?

Excellent release! I speed up the tracks as if it was wax from 33 to 45 (not all of them, some of them just like +20%) and it sounds even better!
