out 18th september! physical pre-orders (including a limited tape edition) sometime in august

very excited, 20 Buck Spin seems an odd choice of label, but it figures since Tomb Mold played the last Hospital festival. if previous collabs with larger metal labels - a la Prurient releases on Profound Lore - are anything to go by, this will be the first fully realised album since 2013's Remember Your Black Day

Interesting.  The recent couple of Hospital releases have been a bit bland IMO, the Alberich album was a bit flat too.

Hope for something a bit more memorable!

yep, Alberich LP was quite underwhelming - i actually preferred the Precursor tape that was supposed to advertise it, in the end. VS / Salford Electronics split was decent, i guess, and i was left wanting more.

those two aside, though, for me the Hospital label is actually in a bit of a golden age right now! most releases have been extremely strong, particularly the Computer Murder comp, and Linekraft is one of the most exciting noise/industrial projects of recent. that's not even to mention the insane reissue curation on HOS in the last couple of years - Grey Wolves, K2, Richard Ramirez, Slogun etc... plus, Fernow has pulled a lot of legends out of retirement like Skin Crime and even Emil Beaulieu(!!)

the upcoming releases that were advertised in Noise Receptor zine are real exciting too. and there are even upcoming Prurient collaborations with Masonna and Genocide Organ who notoriously don't really collaborate with others (Massona at least outside of the Schimpfluch dudes)

[/fanboyism]

On first listen, the Computer Murder compilation sounds like it will be right up my street. Thanks for the tip! I have a copy of the new Noise Receptor but have failed to read it yet.... Doh

His music is okay but I always hate the pretentious and overlong album/ track titles. It usually puts me off from his music a bit.

It was only 7$ so i pre-ordered it after all lol

Dumb question: $7 where? Link?

It's interesting that this dude has music out on 20 Buck Spin, which is a totally badass death metal label that has been on a roll the last few years.

Dominik Fernow is actually on the excellent Merzcast this week talking about his death metal roots among other things.

yeah! i much prefer the ambient style of dom's stuff. really impressed with this in the end. i wouldn't call it the frozen niagara falls of the VS project, but it seems to synthesize all his previous styles into one cohesive, stipulated album format. very excited for future VS releases if they're going to be this strong. 20 buck spin actually hinted to me that there would be future VS releases on the label, so i'm imagining a follow-up, supplemental EP like when you were crawling was to remember your black day.

moving secret money might actually be one of the lushest and, uh, "orchestrated"(?) things he's ever done
