black dresses is a band built partially around the pains of being a transgender person.  100gecs is a band built around a combination of the overuse of modern shit tier pop cliches and early 2000s emo tropes. while im not a big fan of the latter and not that familiar with them, to say there's no depth to the former is disingenuous
