Nil
Hey ! I’m pretty sure you guys can help. I candidly bought an i9 9900k CPU... to eventually realize I need to update my MOBO. I’d love not to spend a fortune getting a new one. Ideally it’d be a micro ATX MOBO, and as a bonus, hackintosh friendly (even though it’s likely I’ll permanently switch to Windows 10 Pro as my first tests with the OS are surprisingly positive). I don’t really plan to OC, might be cool if I can but I don’t mind really. Another solution would be to go ATX and get a new case, but I’ll happily avoid the expense if I can. I plan to use my current PSU, GPU ans SSDs. I’ll have to buy RAM (my sessions are CPU crunchers but not demanding when it comes to RAM). Already got a badass Noctua ventirad. I’ll recycle my current i7 6700k rig into a super compact one to supplement my laptop and to offload processing, my live set-up is absurdly demanding. As always, thanks a billion ! Nil
Thanks everyone, I finally went for a Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming (as it happens to also be hackintosh friendly). I believe I'll have to update BIOS though (haven't have time yet to build the PC). Now, next challenge will be either to buy a super compact, hyper transportable case to put the i7 6700k + MOBO, as VST processing satellite, or maybe to find something like an empty NUC to put the i7 in. No rush as it'd be to play live... Ah right, Id say with the severe lack of air travel, the price of cargo by air freight makes prohibitive.
