Benn Jordan (aka the Flashbulb) Has A YouTube Channel

Interesting video overall - was surprised when it came up in my feed and I realized it was THAT Benn Jordan...

I thought everyone knew him buy now.. 

He have been a Synth review guy for some years.. I don't know if he getting stuff for free or sponsors but I know he always talking about the music and synth business and complains about stuff.

I was listening to his music way back around the time I joined WATMM.
My respect dropped huge when I saw him becoming this grumpy old dude talking alot of crap 

This channel really fits his music 

now compare his personality to Autechre or aphex and you know why their music is so different

As us oldheads know, he used to be a regular poster on here back in the day as Christpuncher and iirc was never far away from opprobrium and drama but it was a different place back then - full of madness. After he started to become more successful with his music he became something of a meme on here with people calling him a lame rip off merchant of AFX/Sp - basically what Im trying to say is theres no love lost between Benn Jordan and watmm.

Yeah I remember his compositions while technically on a pretty high production standard often featuring pretty bland moods and melodies which made them sound like the stuff you had in tv teasers at the time.

I like Ben, he seems like a nice dude and his music is enjoyable.

I understand why some dislike him, he's not your garden-variety YT 'fluencer, does some very good background research, presents subjects well, and even has interesting views on a wide variety of things. I occasionally check what he's been up to.

Ben is nice to watch and listen to if you are super interested in the latest music industry gossips, what companies do, what Spotify does, everything about music sponsorships money yadayada.. If u are enjoying that then go for Ben! 

I also don't know anything about Youtube influencers so don't listen to me. 

 

Flahbulb is an ok guy! I like his yt videos! Will vote for him again!

i like his youtube channel usually. not every video gets my interest but he does a good job of shitting on spotify and the weird sound things he chases.. or general commentary. his enthusiasm and snark are good.

I don't know, but he seems like a pretty great guy, and I'm sorry I spent years on here calling him variations of flahblub. Please forgive me.

Oh wait I listened to his tunes and I get why I did that now.

I thought it was we didn't have pillows in Europe or something? 

I joined watmm in 2004 and I think he had recently left, or was hounded out. I had no idea what the flashbulb was then. 

He seems like an ok guy.

i have no interest in this guy’s opinion on the state of capitalism. haven’t watched the video but reminds me of some video i cringe-watched about the latest diablo game where he was getting into fights with other gamer influencers and they were all doing these videos where they were playing the other persons video and then pausing and giving their rebuttals until in turned into something that felt like a Mr. Show sketch. then fast forward a few months later and the same gamer dude is now doing hard right political propaganda videos. it just seemed insane that anyone would want this persons opinion on anything outside of how shitty the latest diablo game was. 

anyway, same vibes
