it ruins the song every time i hear it, i'm always thinking to myself, "this would be such a great song if they just took out that annoying roar!".. what is the point of it!? i bet BOC just put it in there to annoy us.

i think the roar says 'orange'... and I love it a lot, they don't do that anymore. after geogaddi they got more cautious with the music and I don't like that to be honest

but the roar is fucking awesome, tarsier; I liked it the first time i herard it, i like it now. 1969 has a more disturbing moment '1969 in the sunshine', it took me time to get to like it as well.

My sentiments exactly. BoC haven't sold out but they've refined their craft to such a point that it's borderline boring. I don't blame them at all, and I still like their music a lot, but there was something about those earlier tracks that sets them apart.

hey! i got mhtrtc like a month ago, i think.. and i've been listening to it non-stop!!

i just think the roar is a bit out of place.. maybe it would fit better in something like sixtyten

The roar is awesome. It matches well. Some tracks took me a lot of time to get into, such as Julie And Candy. Everyone loves that track but I hated it for a while.

The tracks I'm still not into are Sixtyniner and XYZ.

Shitbusters, I've just noticed that I haven't listened to the album in flipping ages (well over two years I reckon)

Awesome track. Percussion is so complex. "Roar" does not detract from quality at all.

p.s. I thought the roar was saying "wasps" or "wands" or something...

imho there is no question, it's definatly saying 'orange' probably the same sample used in aquarius (but fx'd etc) lets not let this turn into another 'they come out in the heat' thread (aphex).

I used to find it quite annoying but quickly got used to it. I can defenitely see how it would piss off alot of people and I'm suprised no one else agrees with you. I think there are some risky sounds in alot of electronic music that can make or break a track, sometimes it's just an aquired taste. I hate the 'snoring' sound in Autechre's Uviol and some people agree but I think most people love it. I still struggle to look past it but I love the song otherwise so normally don't care.

ive got no problem with the roar, i dont like the tune underneath it, lol.
