yeah i mean i guess weird is relative here. Is it weird compared to the Autechre subforum? No certainly not. Is he a weird guy compared to most musicians and styles? I'd say so. He's always been difficult to categorize for me. 

It's cool that this type of artist is fairly mainstream. However, I have not really jived with anything since the R + 7 and replica days, personally?

Flol, reminds me when I subscribed to watmm with "weird music" as an interest on my profile and everyone made fun of me. Tbh I thought Incunabula was weirdness' pinnacle at the time.

Back on topic I love this track, it really sounds like a 7mn journey covering everything OPN related. Can't wait to discover the whole album.

Man, I fuckin' love oneohtrix point never. I am so happy rn. Also, I used to be very deep into NTSB/FAA air disaster analyses. I still am but you just kinda reach the bottom after awhile because aviation is so safe now. Anyhow, the scenario at the end of this video is a real threat to mostly smaller craft like Cessnas. There was a feller whose seat clicked all the way back due to the force of the climb and he couldn't reach the controls. The nose pitched too far up, he stalled and that was that. I can't say for sure that Danny Boy is similarly into air failures but he does stack his stuff with lots of imagery/symbolism/etc.

That string quartet in the middle is the most normal thing I've heard in a long time. Downright boring.

The new track didn't do much for me. I'm still looking forward to the whole album.

Same here

I like the new song, feels like R+7/Commissions but with orchestral elements.

If the whole album is like this that would be cool, but I find it hard to predict artists like him based on an initial single...

You call this "weird"? "Weird' is kissing your father on the lips. This is quirky at best.

For the record I called Oneohtrix weird as a person, in an endearing way. not specifically this track.
